SNAP Plan - Traffic Flow/Walking Routes (MAP)

PLEASE READ AND LOOK AT THE MAP.  PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CARS WHEN PICKING UP STUDENTS.  WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE YOU WALK YOUR STUDENTS INTO THE BUILDING.

The pick-up and parking procedures for Discovery Elementary are listed below:
Walking Routes:  All students walking home must use the crosswalks.  NO crossing outside of the designated crosswalks Per Utah Law 12.76.010 Pedestrians shall only cross a roadway in a crosswalk, pedestrian tunnel or overhead walkway unless there is no crosswalk, pedestrian tunnel or overhead walkway within 700 feet.

All Drop-off/Pickups – All vehicles must enter the pickup line on Robinwood Lane.
• NO parking on any part of Robinwood Lane, Constitution Ave, or 1200 South and waiting for students to come to you. STAY in the designated pickup line.
• If Constitution Ave is full, please proceed west on Robinwood Lane and U-turn; Then you will turn right onto Constitution Ave.
• If traffic is backed up to 500 West on Robinwood Lane move to the right side of 500 West to line up and wait. DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS!
• NO stopping at Robinwood Lane when traveling north on 500 West. Cars traveling north on 500 West will need to U-turn after Robinwood Lane and enter Robinwood Lane using a right turn.
Purple – Those wishing to exit to the north of Discovery Elementary
• Turn left onto Constitution Ave then right onto Robinwood Lane.
• LEFT TURNS only onto 500 West! Blue - Those wishing to exit to the south of Discovery Elementary
• Turn right onto Constitution Ave then left onto 1200 South.
YIELD TO BUSSES when they are exiting the parking lot where they load students.
RIGHT TURN only onto 500 West!
 PARKING WILL BE LIMITED AT OUR SCHOOL.  NO PARKING IN THE BUS LOADING ZONE.

  • Please obey all traffic laws, be courteous, and follow the directions of the faculty and staff directing traffic. Safety is the top priority.
  • Be kind and respectful to the crossing guards. They all are volunteering for this job.
